This competition is going to be a backyard-style BBQ with three meats being cooked. There will be a brisket, pork shoulder, and chicken competition. This inaugural year will be invite-only, limited to an invited number of entries. The competitors will be tasked with filling the air with the wonderful smells of smoked meats.
The BBQ competition will be located on North Park Street, west side of historic Pepsin Hill in downtown Monticello. North Park Street is located west of Market Street (IL Route 105) between W. Livingston and W. Main Streets.
Participants will be able to sell 2-ounce samples to the interested public, at $2/sample. Tickets will be purchased from the Monticello Recreation Foundation booth. Proceeds will be split 50/50 with the Monticello Recreation Foundation.
There is a $20 entrance fee and participants will be invite-only.
Eligible entries will be provided an overnight parking spot.

Saturday Judging times:
Brisket: 12pm
Pork Butt: 12:15pm
Chicken: 12:30pm
Awards announced: 1:30pm
